Have Fun! Be Active!
The mission of Campus Recreation is to bring people together in ways that foster a positive and active lifestyle. We are committed to creating an atmosphere of fun that encourages students to participate in our many activities. In fulfilling our mission to bring people together to have fun and be active, Campus Recreation aspires to be the best part of your day!
Through sports, fitness and a variety of competitive activities, we are dedicated to:
- providing comprehensive recreational programs that are safe and enjoyable
- supporting the University's goal to create a vibrant life for students on campus
- encouraging socialization and activity as a means to personal and professional development beyond the classroom.
- Cat Cup Shopping Spree
First 2 teams from each hall to sign up will receive a gift card to target to shop for toys for the Winthrop Children's Hospital! Click here for more information!
- Holiday Fun Run/Walk
The 1st Annual Holiday Fun Run/Walk will be taking place Wednesday, December 10th from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. on the Indoor Track! $5 entry fee and the first 75 people to sign up will receive a t-shirt! Sign up for a 20 minute time slot to walk/run a mile in the Campus Recreation Office or call 516.877.4243. All proceeds will go to the wonderful Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. In addition to the $5 entry fee, please feel free to donate items on the Ronald McDonald House wish list! Click here for more information!
- World Series of Pop Culture Champions!
Congratulations from Hammenger Cruz from Earle Hall for winning the WS of Pop Culture tournament! Runners up were the Lumber Jacks from New Hall! For complete results click here!
- Group Fitness Classes (see semester schedule here)
Classes are now in session! Classes offered: Yoga, Outdoor Yoga, Kickboxing, Pilates, Boot Camp, Total Body,and Ab Attack. Classes are free for all students and are on a first come, first serve basis, there is no set registration. In order to participate, you must fill out a waiver form. You can pick up a form at the Campus Recreation Office, print one out online, or fill one out at class.
